Beyond what I thought.

I have so many goosebumps. This was possibly the best pieces I've heard when it comes to composing for a story, and generating tension and building something from a foundation so powerfully. I await the animation. As of late I'd kind of settled with your work being of a high standard but being what I expect, thank you for snapping me out of it.

MaestroRage responds:

i'm really glad you enjoyed it Assassin :]! Truth be told I was just so happy I had a chance to compose a full length piece rather then loops. I mean it's great to be working with so many talented people but I seriously felt like I was forgetting how to create full length pieces.

It was long overdue, i'm just happy to know I can still do it.

Thanks for the review, i'm glad you liked it!

The name's Bond, Cloud McBond from Sector 6

Dude FF and 007 is exactly right Arthus, in SPACE! It's good that you got creative with some new tools. I have High-Def headphones and yeah it didn't sound too friendly, but then again the only song I've submitted sounds like a french cat being skinned with a wooden knife.
Anyway, it has a decent flow, my comment would be at points like 0:42 where it calms down for about 10 seconds, to maybe push the dynamics further but having that background flutey sound culled or dampened and just have that percussion, matter of opinion. I'm still more a fan of your piano but hey this is all good.

Zero123Music responds:

Thanks!
By not too friendly to you mean the quality or the chords?
A 9 by you means you wouldn't voluntarily listen (I'm guessing)
I am currently getting some GOOD software and I should have that symphonic orchestra soon on my computer!
Though for now I will stay with FL.

At 0:42 I should of cut the strings and had the synth real quiet or maybe not even there.

But thanks once again!

I love it.

It had (to me) a darker kind of feel to Metallica's Unforgiven pt II which I haven't heard in years and years. I love the random mario sounding moments, totally killed the mood but hey, in keeping to 'trick or treat'. You need a vocalist, imagine what you could make.

Sonofkirk responds:

Thanks a lot, I appreciate your review : )

Works for me.

I'd use this in movie any day.

MaestroRage responds:

it's a bit generic for my liking to be honest. It was hard not to sound generic (and I think I somewhat failed in that regard) for the story behind their logo (not that the story is generic but the way to express it kinda was).

Still, thanks for dropping by and taking a listen! Thanks again for the review! Glad you liked it.

Alright.

I can understand the mellow feel, but the melody reverberates a bit heavily to me and gives takes away from the. And I thought of the M*A*S*H theme song at 0.37 haha. I would have (when I say I would have I mean if I had your ability) slowed it a bit more in certain stages, and given the drums the chance to fade out alone, to give a sense of a patient's heart beating out. As a matter of fact your Surgeon songs are ambiguous in the sense we never know if the patient makes it. I would say (you prolly are already) make one where he loses his patient, that could go on for so long too, an epic!

MaestroRage responds:

right you are Assassin. The songs are ambiguous indeed. A drenched dark tones with a lot of malice but no definite answer. Though I would have loved to make a death song for each level, that would have doubled the song size, and the game was already breaching upon gigantic. We have to draw the line somewhere eh? I mean I also wanted to make each song like 30 minutes long :D!

I kept the percussion constant to allow smooth looping.

Thank you for the review, i'm glad you liked it!

Made me laugh

I love the subtle accordion to make it all "suclum bluer, I need to hawparee zis instunce, sheet i need a cigarette". Get Arsenic to sing for you more, gives a nice organic element to your otherwise brilliant but, instruments that anybody can use. Still really good.

MaestroRage responds:

HAHAHAHA.
Thanks alot, now this song is ruined for me, FOREVER

Seclum bluer indeed...

thanks again for the review, i'm glad you liked it! I'll get LadyArsenic on a whole bunch of projects coming soon!

Tee hee.

Been a while since I checked out your stuff.
This is like 'drunk prince' stumbling around the castle to me.
The original you made (actually heard it a few minutes ago) is definitely stronger, but I dunno, this is quirky and kind of ties in well with the fact you're not a FL master, so long as you liked making it.

Zero123Music responds:

haha thanks :-)

and yes I am no FL whiz

I love this.

It's very delicate with your trills. I've noticed that you have a favorite chord progression in your work, and favorite chords for that matter. It's kinda fun hearing it in different songs. My advice is keep doing these. Of all your piano pieces, Silent Tears is the most evocative, I even wrote out lyrics to it after hearing it, they kind of came out note for note which was handy. Anyway, keep at it.

Zero123Music responds:

Silent tears, i thought had a very common chord progression which I try and keep out the way from.

Thanks for reviewin assassin..

Brilliant.

It does have a surreal sense of Final Fantasy to me. I really wish I had to time to go through those too, I only ever played 3, or 6.. The one with Celes and uh.. Loki and Shadow, and Kefka lol. Anyway as for this song, I don't know what would improve it, it's gentle and serene, everything it needs to be.

Zero123Music responds:

dats 6 all right!

Thanks alot (btw don't think your reviews are unoticed!)

I take in ALL your suggestions and stuff :D

Awesomev2

I have to say I liked the one with piano in it more, this gives an ambient mood but doesn't (to me at least) say anything specific, but would reinforce something else say if it was used in film or flash. I guess I'm a sucker for music that does all the talking. But this one it powerful none the less, and goes to show what difference piano does and that without it you're still make very good music.

Zero123Music responds:

Thanks once more;

for this one I found an effect that made the strings sound better
but the piano worse
so I cut the piano.

Thanks

Never be afraid to open your minds. Create something, anything. You'll love doing it, I promise.
